In Memory of David Zeman
Beloved Coach, Commissioner & Board Member has passed
Coach Zeman was an integral part of PAL’s growth and success. He was always available to help any coach, player, parent or board member. He coached both of his sons and will forever be a special part of the lives he touched through his coaching. Dave was a fantastic person who spent countless hours at Peninsula Park making sure it was in the best possible condition. Dave’s passing is a great loss to the Annapolis community. Our thoughts and prayers go to the entire Zeman family.

THE PENINSULA ATHLETIC LEAGUE
The Peninsula Athletic League (PAL) provides the best youth sports experience in the Annapolis area.
- PAL Pirates Baseball offers participants (from 3 to 15 years of age) at all skill levels an opportunity to develop their talents in city, county and travel leagues.
- PAL Hawks Football is back for the 2024 season and we intend to be the premier youth football program in Annapolis producing competitive teams while teaching safe tackling and conditioning techniques.
- PAL Basketball is a fairly new organization but has continued to grow substantially since its inception in 2017.
- We are creating a new Girls Softball Program which will begin play in Fall of 2025.
We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and we look forward to your participation in continuing our great tradition.

PAL BASKETBALL COMMISSIONER
John Downs lll, is an Annapolis native who grew up playing basketball in the Anne Arundel County and surrounding areas. John played three years varsity basketball at Annapolis High. His college ball was played at Mitchell College in New London, CT and Wheeling Jesuit University in WV. John has been coaching at the youth level for over 20 years.
